Hi, we're Kansas City Food Wise. We're here to create healthy people and a healthy planet by transforming the food system in Kansas City from the ground up.
We take a holistic “field to fork” approach addressing food waste along the food supply chain through food waste prevention, rescue and recycling in the Greater Kansas City region.
We're working to bridge the gaps among stakeholders in the local food system, including farmers, food pantries, food rescuers, composters, donation kitchens and volunteers. The main way we do this is through building connections through the food system map. Please contact us to get your organization on the map or get involved.
The upcoming Regional Food Waste Reduction Action Plan will provide detailed solutions to reduce the amount of food that is wasted and sent to landfills in the Kansas City region.
Taking action now can help shape our future for the better. So let's get started.
Funding for this project was provided through a Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Grant provided by EPA, Region 7.
